Young Researchers Fund

The Young Researchers Fund is a restricted fund established to support young researchers in unstable employment conditions and students aspiring to pursue research careers. It aims to foster their development and enhance their capabilities. Your contributions to the Young Researchers Fund will be effectively utilized to support the activities of these promising young researchers and students, and to help them make significant contributions in the future.

Use of donations

This fund is allocated for the following purposes in order to support the development and empowerment of young researchers in unstable employment conditions and students aspiring to pursue research careers:

  • Funding for research activities conducted by students or researchers in unstable employment conditions, enabling them to conduct independent research as self-reliant researchers.
  • Funding for expenses related to publishing papers and presenting research outcomes at academic conferences, including travel expenses and other necessary costs.
  • Promotion of exchange between students or researchers in unstable employment conditions enrolled in graduate schools and other researchers or individuals with practical experience, with the primary goal of improving their abilities and qualifications as researchers in their respective fields.

Tax benefits

For Japanese tax payers, The Scholarship Fund is a specific type of fund eligible for the tax credit system. Tax credit systems allows a certain percentage of an individual's donation to be deducted directly from their income tax amounts. Donors can deduct an amount calculated based on the size of their donation directly from their income taxes, so the donations to this fund provide a highly effective tax reduction regardless of your income or the size of your donation.

As a token of appreciation

All donors will receive an invitation to the Gathering of Gratitude event hosted by the president and CEO of Science Tokyo.

Individuals who donate JPY 300,000 (or corporations that donate JPY 1 million) or more will also receive a certificate of appreciation (first-time, one-time donors), and a engraved with name will be installed on campus.
