The National Science and Technology Fair 2025 (NST Fair 2025) was held in Bangkok from August 9 to 17, 2025, under the theme “Science in Action! For Sustainable Communities. ” Approximately 300,000 visitors visited the event, mainly primary, secondary, and high school students.
Science Tokyo ANNEX Bangkok, one of the overseas offices of Institute of Science Tokyo, exhibited a booth in the Japan Pavilion together with several Japanese universities and research institutions. Science Tokyo Alumni Ambassador Dr. Piyatida Trinuruk and students from TAIST-Science Tokyo joined with ANNEX staff at the booth to introduce the Institute. At last year's NST Fair, wishes for Science Tokyo scientists were collected from children. This year, we introduced six research projects that will lead to the realization of those wishes. Children visiting the booth voted for the research that particularly interested them, and they showed high interest in “technology to convert carbon dioxide into useful substances” and “disease diagnosis using artificial intelligence.” We also set up a free space for future scientists, and many children happily drew pictures there.
By participating in international events, we will continue to actively work on promoting Science Tokyo and fostering interest in science among the younger generation, who will go on to lead the future.
