Suzukakedai Campus renamed Yokohama Campus on April 1, 2026
Science Tokyo has changed the name of its Suzukakedai Campus to "Yokohama Campus," effective April 1, 2026.
Since its establishment in 1975, this campus has continued its educational and research activities for over half a century in northern Yokohama. Nestled in a lush green environment, it has produced numerous research achievements and progressed hand in hand with the local community.
The new campus name expresses Science Tokyo’s respect for the history of educational and research activities conducted in collaboration with the City of Yokohama, and the Institute’s determination to continue contributing to the development of the city.
The name "Suzukakedai" will continue to be used for certain facilities and events, such as Suzukakedai Library and Suzukake Science Day.
Having surpassed its 50th anniversary, Yokohama Campus is now taking a new step forward. While maintaining strong ties with the local community, it will fulfill its role as an important part of Science Tokyo as a University for International Research Excellence and return its achievements to society.
