The ceremony began with a greeting by President and Chief Academic Officer (CAO) Yujiro Tanaka. He emphasized the importance of cultivating the ability to think critically and make sound judgments in a rapidly changing era. He also expressed his hope that, through dialogue with and mutual respect for people who hold different values, students would transform diversity into a source of strength, creating new value for and with society. "Diversity is what makes new ideas possible. It is in the encounter between different perspectives and experiences that creativity takes hold, and innovation follows," Tanaka said.
