Signing ceremony for the TAIST-Science Tokyo Phase 5 implementation agreement

On April 24, the signing ceremony for the fifth phase of the TAIST-Science Tokyo (TAIST: Thailand Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) implementation agreement was held at the Science Delight Building in Thailand Science Park.

TAIST-Science Tokyo was established in 2007 at the request of the Thai government with the aim of creating a hub for research and development and fostering advanced technical and innovative talent in the fields of science and technology in Thailand. Around 1,000 students have participated in the program to date. This marks the fifth renewal of the agreement.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Punperumsak Aruni, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Thailand's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and Mr. Hiroki Akasaka, First Secretary and Director of the Japan Information Service at the Embassy of Japan in Thailand. Representatives from the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thammasat University's Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Kasetsart University (KU), Mahidol University (MU), and Chulalongkorn University (CU), which recently joined the program, were also present. Prof. Junichi Takada, Executive Vice President for Global Affairs, attended on behalf of Science Tokyo.
