Entrepreneurship courses can be taken from any of the following categories: "Global," "Career," or "Leadership and Value Creation". However, courses focused on cultivating and strengthening the core competencies of entrepreneurship-leadership and value creation mindset and skills-are provided by our section. Among these, courses that focus on developing entrepreneurial practical mindsets and skills that can be utilized when "pioneering and establishing new value" in society, rather than simply studying entrepreneurship as knowledge, will be offered in an intensive course format. Briefing sessions regarding the overview and enrollment procedures for these courses will be held in early October. Those courses are based on courses offered by the Academy for Leadership (ToTAL) for graduate students (courses starting with "TAL"), as well as courses newly developed specifically for undergraduate students based on the assets of ToTAL (courses starting with "ENT"). These courses aim to cultivate and strengthen your entrepreneurial capabilities (mindset and skills) through the following unique features:
(1) Intensive course format
(2) Based mainly on discussions and workshops rather than entirely in lecture style
(3) A point system allowing students to independently select content (workshops) they wish to take from multiple options within the core categories of "INITIATIVE," "MOTIVATION," and "INNOVATION"
(4) Emphasis on diversity of students over grade level progression
(5) Participation in individual content (workshop) is possible even without enrolling in the course (primarily for SPRING recipients)
(6) Content aimed at training directly related to professional activities, including entrepreneurship available
Briefing sessions for this unique "Entrepreneurship (Leadership, Value Creation) Course" will be held both in person and online, two times for undergraduate students and four times for graduate students (master's and doctoral). The content is the same for all sessions other than the language used. Register in advance and attend the session that is the most convenient for you.
2. Course to be offered in 3-4Q: Pre-registration now open!] Thinking about Entrepreneurship with DNX Ventures (ENT.V202 Bachelor's Fundamental Group Work for Value Creation B)
A full-fledged Entrepreneurship Course will start in the next semester.
This program "Thinking about Entrepreneurship with DNX Ventures" is full of contents related to "entrepreneurship to create new values and set them in society" with a focus on "startups". The program consists of lectures by entrepreneurs who will passionately share their real experiences of how they started their businesses. They will not just teach about the "how-to's" but also share what their goals are and what they thought about when they started their business.
Mr. Akira Kurabayashi, Head of Japan, and Mr. Yoshiki Shiraishi, Partner, of DNX Ventures, a venture capital firm that has made many investments and fostered startups in Japan and the U.S., are invited as lecturers for this program, and provide full cooperation in the structure and contents for all seven sessions.
Through this program, students will be able to understand the reality of entrepreneurship to "develop and create new value," which is the goal of the entrepreneurship education of this university, and will be able to understand the essence of business for those who are interested in start-ups as well as those who are not thinking of starting their own company. These will give you a wide range of knowledge and options for your future career, regardless of which field you choose to pursue. The program forms the core of the university’s entrepreneurship education.
