On June 24, 2025, Vice President for International Strategy and Engagement at Institute of Science Tokyo, Nobuhiro Hayashi, participated as a speaker at “AGEVITY Japan 2025 - From ageing to longevity: Paving the way for future societies.” The event was held at the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2025, as part of the Theme Week on Health and Well-being. AGEVITY is a forum focused on gerontology organized by Assolombarda, a business association in the Lombardy region of Italy, as well as the Silver Economy Network, a network of companies developing innovative solutions and services for older adults.

In the “Hacking the future: global priorities and innovative projects for sustainable societies” session, participants from industry, government, and academia in Japan and Italy took part in panel discussions on four different themes. As part of the “Life Science Innovation” theme, Vice President Hayashi introduced interdisciplinary research and the real-world application of AI as essential strategies for advancing preventive medicine in a super-aging society, a subject that the Institute is currently working on. He described a future healthcare support system capable of collecting and analyzing daily life data using AI, and using that data to provide insights into individual health conditions. This system would then connect individuals, healthcare providers, and local communities, fostering healthier lifestyles through integrated, personalized support.

Promoting Science Tokyo's research at international events with participation from industry, government, and academia is expected to further strengthen international collaborations.
