The mission of the Institute of New Industry Incubation is to conduct joint research in organized collaboration with companies to create new industries, to foster doctoral students who will lead future industries through research opportunities, to introduce flexible institutional design to evolve existing systems, and to build and implement new models of industry-university collaboration for the creation of innovation. The mission is to create and implement a new model of industry-academia collaboration for innovation creation. With this, we will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by building an innovation ecosystem that promotes the creation of new industries and the development of future human resources who will play a key role in these industries through collaborative creation with society.

The Institute of New Industry Incubation consists of the Medical Engineering Research Institute, which conducts research on the creation of future medicine using medical facilities (hospitals), and the Collaborative Research Cluster, which aims to create new industries through large-scale organization-to-organization joint research between the university and companies. In addition to conducting these studies, the Open Innovation Section of the Center for Innovation Management and the Center for Medical Innovation will support industry-university collaborative activities by identifying the needs of companies.

Collaborative Research Cluster
The Collaborative Research Cluster is a system in which a dedicated space is set aside for planning new research themes and conducting joint research on an organization-to-organization basis. The Open Innovation Section of the Center for Innovation Management plays a central role in promoting commercialization support activities (research management, intellectual property strategy support, research planning support, exit strategy support, etc.) in each process of joint research and development from research planning to commercialization.
