The Institute of Biomedical Engineering (BME) promotes advances in biomedical science achieved through problem-solving and innovation in medical technology developed through collaboration among clinical practitioners, biomedical and engineering researchers, and industrial labs.
BME aims to realize a society where everyone can receive optimal medical and dental care at any time.

Mission

  1. Enhance mutual understanding of the different mindsets of researchers in the medical and dental sciences and in science and engineering to promote problem-solving in the medical and dental fields, exploration of clinical applications of advanced technology, and bilateral biomedical engineering research.
  2. Leverage interdisciplinary co-creation, industry-government-academia collaboration, and international networks to foster clinical innovation.
  3. Contribute to building a healthier world by establishing sustainable medical and dental care systems and cultivating globally competitive biomedical engineers.
