2024 Spring Graduation Ceremonies for medical and dental sciences students

Science Tokyo’s Spring Graduation Ceremonies for medical and dental sciences students graduating in academic year 2024 were held on March 25, 2025, at Yushima Campus. Bachelor’s degree recipients were acknowledged in the morning, while master’s and doctoral graduates were honored in the afternoon.

This spring, Science Tokyo conferred 172 doctoral degrees, 134 master’s degrees, and 269 bachelor’s degrees in the medical and dental sciences fields. Joining the graduates at the celebration were President and CEO Naoto Ohtake, President and CAO Yujiro Tanaka, the Institute’s executive vice presidents, deans and directors, and auditors, as well as special guests.

At both the morning and afternoon ceremonies, degrees were presented to representatives of each cohort of graduating students. At the ceremony for bachelor’s degree recipients, students with outstanding academic achievements received the 2024 Institute of Science Tokyo Academic Excellence Award from Tanaka.

After the presentation of degrees and awards, Tanaka provided a congratulatory speech to the inaugural spring cohort of Science Tokyo graduates. He encouraged the graduates to continue to take on challenges and create value together with Science Tokyo, their alma mater and home port. He also invited everyone back to the Institute to reskill and enhance their abilities in the future.

Ohtake followed with his warm words of encouragement to the graduates, urging them to embrace their freedom, make courageous and impactful decisions, and live their lives to the fullest. He also presented all graduates with a challenge. “Will you take the paved, well-trodden path to a known destination, or will you blaze your trail to new landscapes and discoveries? From today, the choice is yours,” Ohtake said.
