On July 14, President Chi-Hung Lin of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) and his delegation visited Institute of Science Tokyo. The group was warmly welcomed by President and Chief Academic Officer Yujiro Tanaka, and Executive Vice President for Global Affairs Tomohiro Morio.

During the meeting, Science Tokyo introduced its Visionary Initiatives, highlighting key strategic goals and innovative research programs. As NYCU was also established through the 2021 merger of two prestigious institutions - National Chiao Tung University and National Yang-Ming University - both sides shared perspectives on the importance of embracing challenges and fostering a forward-looking academic culture. They also exchanged views on the application of semiconductors in the healthcare field and on strengthening research-to-industry collaboration.

On the following day, part of the delegation, including Dr. Albert Yang, Chairman of the School of Medicine at NYCU, visited Science Tokyo’s Faculty of Medicine to hold discussions on student exchange and to sign a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for student exchange. The delegation was welcomed by Professor. Keiichi Akita, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Kumiko Yamaguchi, Associate Professor at the Center for Healthcare Education; and Dr. Hisanori Hasegawa, Junior Associate Professor at the Office of Global Affairs.
