Peer Life Coaches hold picnic tour in heart of Tokyo
The International Exchange Team of Science Tokyo's Peer Life Coaches, a group of student staff members affiliated with the Student Success Support Section of the Student Support Center, organized the Picnic Tour at Shiba Park, an event promoting international exchange in the heart of Tokyo, on June 8.
This year, in response to requests from participants of past activities, the coaches incorporated a picnic component into the tour for the first time. After strolling around an iconic area of Tokyo and visiting Zojoji Temple, the group sat down for some friendly conversation in Shiba Park, a serene oasis of green just east of Tokyo Tower.
With the rainy season creeping in, the participants were concerned about potential showers, but the weather remained dry throughout the tour. Periodic examinations had also just ended, ensuring an easy, carefree day for the walkers.
In addition to acting as guides for the tour participants, the International Exchange Team members, many of whom are international students or Japanese students with significant international experience, also enjoyed lively conversations with one another. The Picnic Tour at Shiba Park was a fruitful, informative experience for everyone involved.

In the post-event survey, the participants offered positive feedback. Many were happy with the relaxed pace of the tour and appreciated the calm picnic spot, an environment that spawned new conversations and friendships.

The Institute's Peer Life Coaches look forward to creating more entertaining outings and events in the future.
