International Exchange Event "Name × Kanji × Stamp" Organized by Peer Life Coaches
Science Tokyo’s Peer Life Coaches International Exchange Team organized an intercultural exchange event, "Name x Kanji x Stamp”, on July 16. The event, held at Hisao & Hiroko Taki Plaza on Ookayama Campus, was planned and organized by student staff members from the Ookayama Student Support Center.
The workshop was conducted in English and introduced participants to the origins and meanings of Japanese names as well as Japan's traditional stamp culture. It was designed to provide international students from non-kanji-using countries with an opportunity to experience Japanese culture by creating Japanese-style names using kanji characters and curving their own original eraser stamps.
During the workshop, the international students worked together with the student staff to select kanji characters that best reflected their names, design their personal stamps, and curve their own original stamps.
