[Student Division]

1. [Science and Engineering] Cutoff of power and water supplies throughout Ookayama Campus
Power and water supplies will be cut off throughout Ookayama Campus
Dates and Times
From 9:00 to 18:00 on Saturday, August 9 /From 9:00 to 18:00 on Sunday, August 10
Reserve dates and Times
From 9:00 to 18:00 on Saturday, August 30 /From 9:00 to 18:00 on Sunday, August 31
(If the inspection is canceled due to rain, it will be conducted on the reserve days.)

There will be no power outage at International House and Midorigaoka House.

2. Summer holidays at the Institute
The Institute will be closed on Tuesday, August 12 and Wednesday, August 13.
As a general rule, students are not allowed on campus from Tuesday, August 12 to Wednesday, August 13.

3. The automatic certificate issuance machines
Automated certificate issuance machines are going to be suspended during the next period.

Suspension period:
From 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 14
From Monday, September 22 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26

4. Closure of Education Planning Department (Ookayama, Suzukakedai, Yushima and Kounodai)
The Education Planning Department will be closed from Tuesday, August 12 to Wednesday, August 13.
The office in Ookayama will be also closed on Wednesday, August 6, due to Open Campus 2025.

5. [Science and Engineering] Procedures for Fall Graduation
Students who will graduate in this September have to answer a questionnaire on the Web System for Students & Faculty to confirm their name written on their diploma.
Please check an email from the Student Division to the relevant students.

6. [Science and Engineering] "Pre-registration" of Humanities and Social Science Courses in 3Q and 4Q 2025
Undergraduate students and master's program students who are planning to take Humanities and Social Science courses(course numbers starting with LAH) in 3Q and 4Q are advised to apply through "pre-registration" on the Web System for Students and Faculty prior to the course registration period.

There are many courses for which the number of applicants reaches full capacity by pre-registration. Be sure to pre-register if you plan to take any Humanities and Social Science courses.

- Pre-registration period : Early September
- Notification of the results : Late September
- Target courses : 100, 200, 400 and 500 level courses (except for 300 level courses)

Details will be announced by email sent from "lah.yoyaku@ila.isct.ac.jp" address according to target courses. Please check emails sent from the Institute during summer break.
For the latest information and details of pre-registration, please refer to the "Pre-registration" page of the "Website of Humanities and Social Science Courses".
- For Master's program students of fall (September) 2025 admission, registration instructions will be given at the time of enrollment procedure.

[Academy for Leadership (ToTAL)]

(1) Entrepreneurship Courses and Workshops offered by ToTAL
Regardless of whether you are an undergraduate or a graduate student, students in the science & engineering fields may register for entrepreneurship courses that consist of a combination of various workshops to earn credits, or apply to join a single workshop. The following are a few of the courses to be offered in 3-4Q and information on one of its briefing sessions. We encourage students to take these courses!
*Credits and points will not be granted to students in the medical & dental fields, but those students are also welcome to participate in individual workshops.

(a) <Briefing sessions on "Programming Boot Camp" to be held in 3-4Q >

-Outline: Programming Boot Camp is a 4-day workshop which participating students propose a web application that they want to make in their team and intensively develop the application over 4 days with support by professionals. Students with any level of programming skill is welcome to join. Training classes on no-code tools and API development will be provided in advance to students who wish to take, so everyone from beginners to experienced students in programming can enjoy the program. (b) <3-4Q Professionals and Value Creation B/D Courses: Thinking about entrepreneurship with DNX Ventures> (An event of Science Tokyo SPRING (Science and Engineering fields))

Thursdays, October 30, November 6, November 13, November 20, December 4, December 11, and December 18 in the next semester (All classes from 5:30 p.m. - 7:10 p.m.)
-Venue: Ookayama Campus (Lecture room to be decided)
-Outline: This program is full of contents related to entrepreneurship with a focus on “startups”, including learning about the mechanisms of companies, the significance of launching new businesses, and the challenges faced by corporate organizations, regardless of whether they are large corporations or startups. In some sessions, you will listen to lectures by entrepreneurs who passionately share their real-life experiences and engage in discussions with them. Whether you are interested in starting a business or not, this course will help you understand the essence of business. These insights will provide you with a broad range of knowledge and options, regardless of the field you choose to pursue in the future. We highly recommend enrolling in this course.

[Academy of Super Smart Society (WISE-SSS)]

Academy of Super Smart Society (WISE-SSS) will accept applications for those who wish to enroll in this program in Fall 2025.

Notice: This will be the final opportunity to enroll in WISE-SSS.

[Important] For Master's Students and Academic Supervisors:
In principle, students entering the doctoral program in April 2026 or later are expected to leave WISE-SSS upon entering the doctoral course and join the Graduate Major in Super Smart Society to complete the equivalent curriculum.

1. [Course to be offered in 3-4Q: Pre-registration now open!] Thinking about Entrepreneurship with DNX Ventures (ENT.V202 Bachelor's Fundamental Group Work for Value Creation B)

A full-fledged Entrepreneurship Course will start in the next semester.

This program "Thinking about Entrepreneurship with DNX Ventures" is full of contents related to "entrepreneurship to create new values and set them in society" with a focus on "startups". The program consists of lectures by entrepreneurs who will passionately share their real experiences of how they started their businesses. They will not just teach about the "how-to's" but also share what their goals are and what they thought about when they started their business.

Mr. Akira Kurabayashi, Head of Japan, and Mr. Yoshiki Shiraishi, Partner, of DNX Ventures, a venture capital firm that has made many investments and fostered startups in Japan and the U.S., are invited as lecturers for this program, and provide full cooperation in the structure and contents for all seven sessions. Through this program, students will be able to understand the reality of entrepreneurship to “develop and create new value,” which is the goal of the entrepreneurship education of this university, and will be able to understand the essence of business for those who are interested in start-ups as well as those who are not. These will give you a wide range of knowledge and options for your future career, regardless of which field you choose to pursue. The program forms the core of the university’s entrepreneurship education.
