3. [Science and Engineering] Disaster Drill: Wednesday, November 11, 2026 (Starts at 12:25 p.m.)
A campus-wide announcement will be broadcast at 12:25 p.m. to mark the start of the disaster drill.
Students attending classes at that time should secure their safety in accordance with the instructions of their instructor and then proceed to the designated evacuation area.
At the evacuation area, please submit your safety confirmation card in the collection box provided.
This drill is also an opportunity to confirm your evacuation route and methods for contacting others in an emergency.
In addition, an individual training exercise will be conducted near the wooden deck area. We encourage you to participate.

[Academy of Energy and Informatics(ISE)]

<Selection for Financial Support for Academic Year 2027>
Expanding on the Academy of Energy and Informatics program, the Graduate Major in Energy Science and Informatics launched in April 2024. Accordingly, student admissions to the Academy of Energy and Informatics ended in AY2025. In the fall semester of AY 2026, we will conduct the selection of students for financial support for AY2027 in accordance with the guidelines set forth below.

The graduate major in Energy Science and Informatics will conduct the student selection for financial support in this fall semester. This selection process will be explained during the orientation for new students entering in September 2026, hosted by the Energy Science and Information Course.

1. [Graduate Students in the Science and Engineering Fields] 2026 Fall Entrepreneurship Course Orientation Videos Now Available!

Graduate students in the science and engineering fields who enrolled at Science Tokyo in AY 2024 or later are required to earn credits in entrepreneurship courses to fulfill the requirements for their master's or doctoral degree.

The videos explain the goals of Science Tokyo's entrepreneurship education, how to enroll in entrepreneurship courses, and the entrepreneurship courses offered. It also introduces activities outside of class, such as lectures and seminars, as well as the Collaboration Center for Design and Manufacturing.

1. [Call for participants] "Practical Approaches to Business Leadership and Entrepreneurship": The 15th Global Leadership Cafe Lecture Series - Guest Speaker: Mr. Wilf Blackburn, Author of Optimal Leadership and Business Leader

At the Center for Entrepreneurship Education, we are happy to welcome Mr. Wilf Blackburn, a global business leader and author of Optimal Leadership: Reflections of a Serial CEO, on campus on Wednesday, November 18, 2026. Mr. Blackburn will give a lecture entitled "Practical Approaches to Business Leadership and Entrepreneurship" in person at Ookayama Campus and online, followed by a Q&A session.

This lecture will explore ways of thinking and practical approaches to creating new value in highly uncertain environments, with a particular focus on business, from three perspectives: entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership and value creation.
Mr. Blackburn will share insights from his experiences serving as a CEO in multiple countries, including lessons learned from failure, empowering teams, and leading effectively in cross-cultural environments.

The event is open to everyone, regardless of discipline or affiliation, including students, faculty, and staff, as well as members of the general public.

[All Graduate Students] New Startup Course "Innovation Teams" Launching Oct 8 (Registration Required) The Center for Startup Education, established on July 1, 2026, is pleased to announce the launch of a new course, "Innovation Teams," for all graduate students starting in the 3rd-4th Quarters of AY2026.

- Course Overview
In this hands-on course, students will form teams to analyze the commercialization potential of actual research outcomes generated in university labs (or research seeds of interest within Science Tokyo) and develop actionable business plans.
Experienced faculty members and industry practitioners with deep-tech startup backgrounds will provide ongoing guidance. In the second class, Ko Nagao (Co-founder of Kyoto Fusioneering and Specially Appointed Professor) will deliver a guest lecture.

-Term: AY2026 3rd-4th Quarters (3-4Q)
-Schedule: Thursdays, Periods 1-2 (First class on October 8)
-Venue: Room W3-201, 2nd Floor, West Building 3, Ookayama Campus
-Language: English
-Format: Lecture / Exercises (Blended)
-Target Audience: All Graduate Students (Master's, Doctoral, and Professional Degree Programs)
-Capacity: Approx. 20 students in total
