Science Tokyo’s Environmental Report 2025 is now available online. The report is the first of its kind since the integration of the Institute’s predecessor universities in October 2024.
Like businesses, Science Tokyo and other national university corporations are required to compile and publish environmental reports annually in accordance with Japan’s Environmental Consideration Law of 2004. Science Tokyo’s report summarizes the Institute’s environmental research, conservation activities, and social contribution initiatives in a manner easily understandable by middle and high school students, the report’s main target audience.
An English digest version of the report is also available. The digest includes a summary of the Institute of Science Tokyo Environmental Policy and figures on energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and other environmental performance indicators for FY 2024. It outlines the Institute's initiatives to reduce the environmental footprint created by both general waste and chemical waste from lab activities, and reports on current environmental research being conducted by Science Tokyo researchers.
