Introduction
We at the Academy for Leadership (“ToTAL”) are honored to welcome MS. OLEKSANDRA MATVIICHUK, Head of the Center for Civil Liberties in Ukraine to speak on “LEADERSHIP IN CRISIS SITUATIONS” and answer questions from the audience on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. -9:00 p.m., Tokyo time. The Center for Civil Liberties won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022.

About Ms. Oleksandra Matviichuk
MS. MATVIICHUK is a lawyer and human rights defender who works on issues in Ukraine and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) region. She heads the human rights organization Center for Civil Liberties (CLL), which was awarded the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize, and also coordinates the work of the initiative group Euromaidan SOS.
- 2016: Received the Democracy Defender Award for ‘Exclusive Contribution to Promoting Democracy and Human Rights’ from missions to the OSCE.
- 2017: Became the first woman to participate in the Ukrainian Emerging Leaders Program of Stanford University.
- 2022: Awarded with the Right Livelihood Award and recognized as one of the 25 most influential women by the Financial Times. Center for Civil Liberties received the Nobel Peace Prize.
