What I liked best about Tokyo Tech
What I liked best about Tokyo Tech was its outstanding academic environment and the kindness of its people. The professors were highly knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to support students in both academic and personal development. I was particularly grateful to Professor Inoue Hirotsugu, whose guidance greatly influenced my academic journey. What touched me most was his genuine care for his students. During one of his visits to Vietnam, he even took the time to visit my parents, a gesture that left a lasting impression on my family and me. Beyond the excellent research facilities and international environment, it was this spirit of mentorship and human connection that made my experience at Tokyo Tech truly memorable.
Current activities and career
I am currently working at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. I am actively involved in research related to traffic safety, injury biomechanics, and computational modeling, with a particular focus on motorcyclist injury prevention and virtual assessment methodologies. I also support initiatives that strengthen academic partnerships between HCMUT and international institutions, including Science Tokyo. Recently, I have been involved in organizing the Science Tokyo Promotion and Alumni & Friends Gathering in Ho Chi Minh City.
How my studies at Tokyo Tech have contributed to my career
My experience at Tokyo Tech has had a profound impact on my professional career. The rigorous academic environment at Tokyo Tech strengthened my analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and research skills. More importantly, I learned the value of discipline, innovation, and continuous improvement, which continue to guide my work today. The international learning environment also enhanced my ability to collaborate with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. These experiences have been invaluable in my current roles in university administration, international cooperation, and engineering research. The knowledge, research culture, and global perspective I gained at Tokyo Tech continue to support my efforts in advancing higher education, international collaboration, and engineering research at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.
Message to prospective students
If you are considering studying at Science Tokyo, I encourage you to make the most of every opportunity both inside and outside the classroom. Take advantage of the excellent research environment at Science Tokyo, learn from outstanding professors, and engage with students from diverse backgrounds. I especially appreciated the kindness and support of my academic supervisor and the laboratory staff, who were always willing to help students succeed. Beyond academics, the Ookayama campus is a beautiful place to enjoy cherry blossoms in spring and golden ginkgo trees in autumn. Science Tokyo will enrich both your professional development and personal growth.
