January.16(Fri), 17(Sat): No classes are held due to the Common Test for University Admissions and its preparation.
January.17(Sat), 18(Sun): There are entrance restrictions.

[Academy for Leadership]

(1) Entrepreneurship Courses/Workshops offered by ToTAL
Regardless of whether you are an undergraduate or a graduate student, any student* may take entrepreneurship courses that consist of a combination of various workshops to earn credits, or apply to join a single workshop. Take our courses or workshops if you are interested!
*Course registration is not available to students in the medical & dental fields, but those students are also welcome to participate in individual workshops. (Credits and points will not be granted in that case.)

-Outline: The Lean Launchpad Program (LLP) will be offered in 1-2Q in AY 2026. Starting from the end of May and lasting approximately two and a half months, students will work in teams to verify the marketability of their own business ideas and aim to create a business plan that has a high probability of being realized in society. If you wish to demonstrate your entrepreneurial skills, if you already have a business idea and would like to verify its feasibility and marketability, please attend a briefing session to learn more about the program and application requirements. (b) Book Dialogue for Leadership
(An event of Science Tokyo SPRING (for Science and Engineering fields))

[Japanese Class] Thursday, January 15, 2026, 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
-Venue: Room J3-309B, Suzukakedai Campus
-Outline: Students will read books on leadership development or insights on future society following a unique book club style called "Active Book Dialogue". In these classes, students grasp the main idea of the book quickly and discuss ideas with other students intensively. It can be a language training for students who wish to improve Japanese/English skills. Students may participate in a single class out of the above.

(c) Nonviolent Communication (series of 2 classes)
(An event of Science Tokyo SPRING (for Science and Engineering fields))
-Date and time: Fridays, January 9 and January 16, 2026 (Both classes from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.)
-Venue: Room S6-309A, Ookayama Campus
-Outline: How can people with diverse values and opposing opinions understand each other and work together? The foundation is communication. Among the many skills to strengthen communication, Nonviolent Communication (NVC) has gained attention as a highly practical and effective approach. This skill can be applied both to everyday challenges in research groups and to broader dialogues among science, technology, and society.

(d) Idea-thon (series of 2 classes)
(An event of Science Tokyo SPRING (for Science and Engineering fields))
-Date and time: Saturdays, January 10 and January 24, 2026 (Both classes from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
-Venue: Room S4-202, Ookayama Campus
-Outline: There are people all around us who are living in a "future half-step ahead" that no one has paid much attention to yet. Why not talk to such people and think about new business ideas to satisfy the real need you find from such conversation? This class will train you in generating business ideas using the methodology of "Design Thinking".

(e) Transforming Your Mind to Foster Innovation
(An event of Science Tokyo SPRING (for Science and Engineering fields))
-Date and time: Monday, January 12, 2026, 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
-Venue: Room S4-202, Ookayama Campus
-Outline: Through art and observation, this class will provide an opportunity for you to notice overlooked sides of people and society. You will experience a "mental transformation" to foster innovative thinking.

(f) Systems Thinking and Leadership (series of 2 classes)
(An event of Science Tokyo SPRING (for Science and Engineering fields))
-Date and time: Sundays, January 25 and February 8, 2026 (Both classes from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
-Venue: Room S4-202, Ookayama Campus
-Outline: In our society, causes and effects are not always found close to each other. This class will provide an opportunity for you to learn perspectives and methods for recognizing complex situations and creating desired outcomes, and to apply them to your own challenges.

(g) Systemic Design
(An event of Science Tokyo SPRING (for Science and Engineering fields))
-Date and time: Saturday, February 7, 2026, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
-Venue: Room S4-202, Ookayama Campus
-Outline: Systemic design is a methodology that combines the theory of Systems Thinking with the practical methods of Design Thinking to view difficult and complex problems as systems, consider the related elements and interactions, and design solutions. It incorporates the perspectives of multiple stakeholders, analyzes the problems of the target system from a bird's-eye view moving back and forth between parts and the whole, and used to consider sustainable and useful solutions.

Symposium theme: "Towerd Energy, Life Science, and the Creation of New Industries"

We are pleased to announce that the 7th InfoSyEnergy Open Symposium will be held soon.
This year's keynote speaker will be Dr. Yoshinao Mishima, former President of the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED), former President of Tokyo Institute of Technology, and Professor Emeritus at Science Tokyo.
We look forward to welcoming many participants.
