President of Sampoerna University, Indonesia visits Science Tokyo

On February 24, Dr. Marshall Schott, President of Sampoerna University in Indonesia, and Dr. Farid Triawan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Sampoerna University in Indonesia visited Science Tokyo. They were welcomed by President and CEO Naoto Ohtake, Executive Vice President for Global Affairs Jun-ichi Takada,and three other members. The representatives of both institutions engaged in a lively exchange of views.

During the meeting, they discussed the achievements of past exchanges of researchers and students, as well as ways to further strengthen future collaboration between the two institutions.

A School-Level Agreement was concluded between Science Tokyo and Sampoerna University in 2023. As part of this visit, Science Tokyo and Sampoerna University held a ceremony to conclude a new Institutional-Level Agreement, reaffirming their commitment to deepening bilateral collaboration. The discussion also touched on expanding cooperation beyond student exchange to include joint research and broader academic partnerships.

This visit and the conclusion of our Institutional-Level Agreement represent an important first step toward a new phase in the partnership between the two universities. Both institutions agreed to further strengthen our partnership in both education and research, striving for deeper academic cooperation.

After the signing ceremony, President Marshall Schott gave a special lecture.
