Campus life

My most significant learning experience or memory

The student life experience especially Kanda Lab members and Professors, the IDE Department members, the Tokyo Tech community, surrounding community (including "Oya-san", a Japanese term for my landlord that often implies a more personal relationship) and overall life in Japan experience. Tokyo Tech is one of the prominent university Japan. Many opportunities to join the site visit, research activities, trip with the lab members, and local and international conferences.

Current activities and career

As a Senior Lecturer in Smart Engineering and Advanced Technology at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, I embody the university’s 7P’s concept through teaching, research, and service. I lecture undergraduate Industrial Design courses including Technical Drawing, CAD, SolidWorks, and Engineering Science and postgraduate CAD/CAE modules. Committed to mentorship, I supervise Master’s and PhD researchers. Beyond the classroom, I serve as a program coordinator, being members for community-grant projects, and drive faculty taskforces, notably the Greenleaf and sustainability initiatives. My role blends academic excellence with impactful societal and environmental contributions.

How my studies at Tokyo Tech have contributed to my career

Studying at Tokyo Tech, a premier global institution, profoundly shaped my career as a senior lecturer. Immersion in Kanda Lab, the IDE Department, and Tokyo Tech's vibrant community instilled a rigorous research ethos and a collaborative mindset. Beyond academics, engaging with the local community, including my Oya-san, developed my cultural intelligence and empathy, traits essential for effective student mentorship today. Furthermore, first-hand exposure to site visits, international conferences, and lab collaborations equipped me with the advanced technological insights and leadership skills necessary to drive engineering research, coordinate programs, and lead sustainability initiatives at my current faculty.
