Outline

At the Center for Entrepreneurship Education, we are honored to welcome Mr. Anas Jnena, former project manager of “We Are Not Numbers”—a media social enterprise that publishes articles on the experiences of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and shares them with the world—to deliver an online keynote address.

Drawing on his firsthand experiences in Gaza, Mr. Jnena continues to work to bridge community-based civic activism with international policy. Currently based in Kuwait, where he teaches, he is conducting research at the University of Leicester in the UK. Using methods such as narrative analysis and autoethnography—which analyze the accounts of those directly involved and their own experiences—he is studying how “education” and “leadership” empower people to achieve self-reliance and rebuild society in post-conflict environments.

During the presentation, Mr. Jnena will draw on the activities of “We Are Not Numbers” and his own experiences to discuss the importance of the mindset and skills of entrepreneurship—such as leadership and value creation—even in crisis zones. A Q&A session with participants will follow the lecture.

This event is open to students, faculty, staff, and members of the general public.
