Science Tokyo Meeting
Professor Maho Isono from the Institute for Liberal Arts will deliver the keynote speech, which will be followed by a presentation on Science Tokyo’s Visionary Initiatives (VIs) by Institute faculty.
All in-person attendees will receive an original Science Tokyo commemorative gift.

Session 1: Keynote speech
Topic: Teaching the Humanities and Social Sciences at a Science-Oriented University: Reflections on Trial and Error
Speaker - Professor Maho Isono (Institute for Liberal Arts)
Anthropologist. Author of “When Life Suddenly Takes a Turn” and other works. Won the 33rd Yamamoto Shichihei Award in 2024 for “Obedience Without Law: Japan’s COVID Years.”
Session 2: Visionary Initiatives
Faculty will explain the Visionary Initiatives (VIs) , the Institute-wide research framework dedicated to the realization of a better, brighter future, introduced in April 2025.
Evening Reception
Food and beverages will be provided. Enjoy an opportunity to meet and chat with old friends and guests with connections to the Science Tokyo community.
In addition, the event will feature booths where guests can learn about the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, the Center for Innovation Management, and the Center for Medical Innovation. Early-career researchers will also be on hand to present posters detailing the results of their research so far. These are excellent opportunities to find out firsthand about the Institute’s research and initiatives, so feel free to stop by.
