President of the University of Chile leads delegation to Science Tokyo

On October 1, a delegation led by Prof. Rosa Devés Alessandri, President of the University of Chile, visited Science Tokyo, and held discussions with President and Chief Executive Officer Naoto Ohtake, President and Chief Academic Officer Yujiro Tanaka, Executive Vice President for Global Affairs Tomohiro Morio, Executive Vice President for Global Affairs Jun-ichi Takada, Dean for School of Life Science and Technology Shoen Kume and further related faculty members.
Exchanges between the University of Chile and our School of Medicine have so far taken place under a school-level agreement. The collaboration, which has been ongoing since 2009 and has included initiatives such as PRENEC (Programa de prevención del cáncer colorectal/ Colorectal Cancer Prevention Program), is now being considered for expansion. Recent discussions have focused on broadening the collaboration to include interdisciplinary research and exchange activities, particularly in the fields of medicine and engineering, to further strengthen ties between the University of Chile and Science Tokyo.
