Tomoe IMADO
Executive Vice President for Legal Affairs
Tomoe Imado is executive vice president for legal affairs at Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo).
Imado graduated from Sophia University with a JD degree in 1999. She began her legal career at Mori Hamada & Matsumoto in 2003, where she worked until 2007. In 2008, she joined the International Legal Affairs Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she served until 2010.
From 2010 to 2018, Imado was with Okuno & Partners. Since 2014, she has been a committee member of the Japanese Orthodontic Society Research Ethics Review Committee. She served on the New Bar Examination Committee for Public International Law from 2015 to 2018.
Imado has been a lecturer at Kitasato University Graduate School since 2016 and an instructor for the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's re-education and training program for public health nurses since 2017. She joined IR Japan, Inc. in 2018 and became a partner attorney at Miura & Partners in 2019. She served as a statutory auditor for OneBe, Inc. from 2019 to 2023.
Since 2019, Imado has been an external member of the Review and Supervisory Committee at Terumo Corporation. She has also been an external director at Zenkoku Hosho Co., Ltd. since 2020 and at Kanaden Corporation since 2022.
From 2023 to 2024, Imado served as executive director of corporate governance innovation at Tokyo Medical and Dental University.
