Master's and doctoral programs at the Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences are introduced here.
Reorganization of the graduate school was carried out in 2018.
The Master's Degree Program includes Medical, Dental, and Health Sciences and Engineering and the Medical, Dental, and Health Sciences and Engineering, Master of Medical Administration Course, and Medical, Dental, and Health Sciences and Engineering, Master of Public Health in Global Health (MPH) Course.
The Doctoral Program includes the Medical and Dental Sciences Track, Biomedical Sciences and Engineering Track, and the Joint Degree Program (JDP).

The Graduate School offers a wide variety of courses and programs at the master's and doctoral levels, with the aim of developing personnel who are well versed in the fields of medicine, dentistry, and biomedical sciences, and who will become opinion leaders pioneering a new era.

Cross-disciplinary classes and research guidance are available

In addition to elective subjects from other departments, students can also choose to take specialized subjects offered by other laboratories, allowing them to cultivate not only knowledge specific to their own research field, but also a broad range of academic knowledge.
In addition, a multiple guidance system has been introduced that allows students to receive research and thesis guidance from a faculty member other than their own laboratory as a secondary supervisor.

Various courses and programs

The Graduate School offers a variety of courses and programs across multiple tracks.
In the “Advanced Medical and Dental Science and Technology Course (Doctoral)” and “Advanced Medicine Course (Master's),” students can learn basic concepts of advanced medicine, clinical statistics, bioinformatics programs, etc. By completing the subjects designated for the course, a statement of completion of the course will be appended to their diploma.
The Clinical Epidemiology Program is designed for students who wish to conduct observational studies using clinical data, intervention studies to test the effects of new drugs, procedures, or educational methods, and write a dissertation. By satisfying the requirements for completion of the program, a statement of completion of the program will be appended to the diploma.

International seminars and special lectures

The Graduate School holds around 100 special graduate school lectures each year, inviting researchers from Japan and abroad who are conducting cutting-edge research in the themes that the laboratories are working on. Seminars hosted by the laboratories and centers are also held every year.

International Collaborative Program (Joint Degree Program (JDP)), Doctor’s Degree Program

We have a joint degree program to collaborate with overseas universities that we have long interacted with, to develop global medical professionals and to enhance our research’s global competitiveness.

Global Health Leader Development (MPH), Master's Degree Program in Medical, Dental, and Health Sciences and Engineering

The purpose of this program is to develop experts with global perspectives who can deeply understand the health issues the world faces on operational levels, devise effective solutions and preventive strategies utilizing various academic insights and move the world forward.
