The CEHI promotes open innovation with a focus on human resource development activities and supports healthcare innovation leaders.

The Center for Education in Healthcare Innovation (CEHI) was established in October 2024 through the reorganization of its predecessor, the Innovative Human Resource Development Division, Institute of Education at Tokyo Medical and Dental University. In addition to educate students, the CEHI will focus on supporting the reskilling of working professionals (e.g., medical professionals, academic researchers, and corporate human resources) both on and off campus, focusing on the Data Science Human Resource Development Program, the Digital Health Human Resource Development Program, and the Entrepreneurial Development Program, which have been underway for some time.
The CEHI develops its activities in cooperation with various institutions, including higher education institutions, government agencies, public research institutes, companies and organizations, and engages in open innovation through human resource development in the healthcare field. As a result, we have a business operation system that can promptly respond to the needs of society. In addition, our university serves as the representative institution of the "Medical and Drug Discovery Data Science Consortium" and is responsible for its administration as the secretariat. The consortium was established in 2017, and the participating institutions have taken the lead in implementing the data science human resources development program, with the number of participants inside and outside the university reaching nearly 1,000 (as of May 2024). Currently the project has developed into a range of activities, including collaborative research with former students, new business development through industry-academia collaboration, and regional revitalization (Vision for Digital Garden City Nation, Cabinet Office), and is expected to yield significant results.
By focusing on human resource development activities, the CEHI will continue to support the innovators who will pave the way for the next era.

The CEHI offers the Data Science Human Resource Development Program and hands-on learning programs, which are useful for conducting research and developing new businesses in the healthcare field. The CEHI also offers these programs to the outside of our university and are a gathering place for a diverse group of people. Information on human resource development programs and events can be found on the CEHI's website.
